Flock Fresh Bedding

I am wondering if anyone is familiar with Standlee Flock Fresh premium western forage bedding. The packaging describes it as an all natural bedding for chickens with zeolite that reduces odor and locks in ammonia; increases activity and promotes digestion. It smells wonderful, like a barn full of fresh hay, and feels super soft. The store where I have bought the pine shaving bedding no longer carries it, only this forage bedding. I would love to use this bedding, it seems so comfy to snuggle in during our predicted rough winter ahead but don't want to put something in the coop that will hurt my girls. Has anyone used this or have any advice? Me and my girls thank you.

Welcome to BYC! It sounds like a good product! I buy Standlee's Horse Fresh which is only zeolite, a granular mineral that absorbs odors. So The Flock Fresh looks like it contains alfalfa with zeolite mixed in. I'd say if it's affordable, go for it!

Is there any "ingredients" list to say what exactly is in it? The zeolite is fine.

It lists straw, alfalfa and zeolite granules.

Should be fine. Sounds costly but then again bedding is the one thing I go super cheapo on!

Thanks for the welcome but I've been a member for five years. my hard drive crashed so I had to have it rebuilt. After that BYC didn't recognize my email, wouldn't accept my login, there was no way to access the site to post my question. Post a new thread here about an account snafu and an admin will help get your it fixed up.

Since I'm a grandma wanna-be, I spoil my chicks terribly. Only have three left so don't even look at cost. I've had medical problems this year and an awful summer, getting better now thanks good doctors and my girls. I call them my emotional support chicks. They are delightful and can brighten the darkest days. I love them to pieces
