better then nothing love. The egg shell gland is in that shape. It is working correctly if you get a nice hard shell so do not worry about it.Good morning/evening
Quick question for you all: I got one of the pullets (that are laying) laying very oblong oval eggs, what does that mean? Shells are hard, no other egg problems, just one of the two eggs I get that are always oblong and oval. Usually, I might get one every so often, but never day after day.![]()
I'm sorryToday one of the ladies that I usto work with that I haven't seen in a few months asked me how Tank is
It took my breath away. I miss him soooo much

Thanks! She is a very healthy pullet and I doubted anything was wrong- Good to know, though. The egg shell gland is in that shape. It is working correctly if you get a nice hard shell so do not worry about it.

Is she a newer layer? My Brahma mix lays them, too. I don’t think it’s an issue.![]()
She's turning one year in two months (so not really a new layer) but hasn't layed in almost three months from molting. All of them are just getting back into the swing of things.I haven't come across this yet but like Kayla asked is she a new layer? Sometimes they lay strange eggs randomly the first few weeks.
The only problem with torpedo shaped egg shells is figuring out which end has the air cell for incubating them! Thanks! She is a very healthy pullet and I doubted anything was wrong- Good to know, though.![]()

Sometimes a chick will not be able to turn too so you have to watch for that
