My sale goes like this When I haven't got alot of eggs EVERYONE wants to buy them. When I have loads of eggs NO ONE wants to buy them!!!!

I work with about 30 to 40 people that keep asking for eggs then family and friends also. ohhh and Jordans work mates too.

Well if i did my math right today is the day my quail eggs should hatch! is there anything special i need to do to coax them out? Should i stop turning the eggs? Ive been trying to read up but still wondering if there are even babies in there as candling has been difficult.

High-five to Florida living!

I live about an hour south west of St. Augustine in a small town. I haven't particularly noticed one breed dealing with heat better, florida heat destroys every living thing if left out in the sun too long. I've also never had any NNs. Maybe they do handle it better.

Before I had chickens my grandma had Rhode Island reds for eggs and to my knowledge have never lost a bird to the heat. She never used my cooling techniques. I honestly think my grandparents think I'm crazy for caring for my flock as much as I do.

On particularly hot days I give my flock, standard chickens, bantam chickens and muscovies, some frozen vegetable treats. My muscovies love digging veggies out of the pools and the chickens usually like to play with the treats, then they eat them when the veggies are almost thawed out.

Fans are also common for cooling down the flock. Plenty of shade is available, considering +100° heat easily happen out in the sun.

Lettuce was the latest treat for a hot day.

Don't temp me! I'm good with my girls, though Spanish chickens do sound cool. They have some dark brown eggs, almost like a marans. Very neat.

So it looks like ago the babies weathered the cold snap jyst fine. However I had something weird. Has anyone experienced this? I collected eggs and this one egg is just teeny tiny. Smaller than any egg I've seen from them.
