Flock/Life Journey's 2019

So it looks like ago the babies weathered the cold snap jyst fine. However I had something weird. Has anyone experienced this? I collected eggs and this one egg is just teeny tiny. Smaller than any egg I've seen from them.View attachment 1692693
How cute is that! Is it from a regular gal?

Well if i did my math right today is the day my quail eggs should hatch! is there anything special i need to do to coax them out? Should i stop turning the eggs? Ive been trying to read up but still wondering if there are even babies in there as candling has been difficult.

What day exactly is it? Day 1 is the day after the day you set. If it is after day 15 i would most def Stop turning them. Yes candling them is very tough do you have any pics maybe i can help u identify life. What about is the ambient humidity of the (i assume) home your incubating in? Thatll make a difference with the humidity concerns bumping it or "dry hatching" if u dont know the ambient u can look on a phones weather app and outside is a better starting place than none.

@mixedUPturk may be able to assist you....
Btw, Hi:frow Turk!! How’s it going?

Im dumbfounded at the growth rate of the good lines i havent ever had anything sprout like this of the Hundreds of birds ive hatched and raised. I dont have the math but i bet even my pekin ducks didnt match in growth rate per lb + feathers and those things grow at an alarming rate.

Good to hear from you!! Wow, they look great! Are most or all of them doing well?
I have been meaning to ask and see how things were going!!

Don't temp me! :gig I'm good with my girls, though Spanish chickens do sound cool. They have some dark brown eggs, almost like a marans. Very neat.
With chickens, you need more eventually!

Keep them in mind when replacing some from the older flock

Quail!

:wee

There was a great escape facilitated by a hungry chook who wanted the baby feed but i was able to catch all but 3. The one with splay had a relapse and it wont ever walk right now but its mobile enough to grow up for proccessing day so im leaving it. It may be a hen but i cant keep it handicapped. There was also one with one eye who got neurologically induced wry neck and didnt recover despite any nursing i administered so i put it down.
