Flock/Life Journey's 2019

Thank you!
I know it’s tough to decide to rehomed or not... people on here say some act like that a lot but once they are big they settle down and trust you.. the ones I had last year only two out of eight would really run from me .. now those two are still a little shy but will definitely come around so long as I don’t touch.. but the three this year pretty much freak out when I go in there to change water and feed:barnie..
Honestly, I think it’s because they copy each other! The Cuckoo Maran is crazy and now my sweet LB and SS are acting crazy and I think it’s cuz they see her freaking out so they do the same..
The “bully” EE I rehomed apparently decided to become a “mom” to her day old chicks!.... so, ya never know!View attachment 1722073View attachment 1722074
That’s hilarious...the chicks look like blue laced red Wyandottes, maybe she likes that breed or thinks she’s one of them:gig

Yes! The baby babies are safe and staying since their docile breeds. I'm keeping one maran and one amerucana and of course the black sexlink:D
:yesss:

What sebrights have you been in contact with!? I used to have sebrights and they were the most flighty things.:th

I had a pair of silver sebrights. Well, my mom seen a few sermas at a farm swap but couldn't get them. Then, at the next one I picked up a pair of silver sebrights. I let her call them hers, but i cared for them.

I don't remember them being too flighty, the roo died before the hen because of injuries from a predator attack. She would let us pick her up, but she didn't particularly like it. She also liked going broody! Though it was after her mate passed so it was for nothing.

Well, little Nina didn’t survive the night :(.. I had a feeling.. she seemed sickly/weak the moment I brought her home.. and was ever so tiny.. the other three are looking good and seem happy with mama! I was worried about mama not eating or drinking for days.. so this morning I put her in the big pen with the other gals (left the babies waiting) in hopes she would eat and drink then I’d put her back.. weellll, that did NOT go over well!! She freaked!! So I put her back! I then made her a scrambled egg and put water on it after cooked... I put it right in front of her as she WILL NOT move.. and she ate three quarters of it.. so I feel a bit better now that I know she has something in her belly!

Way less sneezing this morning.
Still laying good hard shelled eggs.

Sorry for your loss.
Good that she ate a little, hopefully she goes off broody mode and into mother mode soon :hmm
