Flock/Life Journey's 2019

Okay, so what if she doesn’t get down? She doesn’t look like she has any intention of moving! Is it okay if she goes all day without food and water? This could be the second whole day of this as I did not see her get anything yesterday either...
Yes, she will be fine for a day.

If she does not bread from being broody, you will have to brood the chicks in a brooder

Ooooohhhhh, man.. that can happen!?
Okay, so tomorrow I should put them in the grass part of the coop and see what happens? When will I know if she stays broody? By her not moving from nest?

The littlest one.. Nina.. is not doing well.. I took her out and cleaned pasty butt.. she doesn’t eat much or drink .. she just stays under mama and doesn’t come out and run around with the others:rolleyes:

Flock Update:

So learning curve for first time with chickens... tried to hold some today and some tried to claw me all up. Making the hard choice of rehoming the ones that were really yuck. We're keeping Relish, Sesame, and BBQ... the others will be sold to make room for more docile breeds (though i thought we had gotten those :he ) :hit:smack

Not in the best of moods today. But I did get to hold some of the babies and baby babies.

Relish being all sweet and cuddly (after pooing on me of course:rolleyes: )

I think this means the Sebrights are included since they are usually docile?

Thank you!
I know it’s tough to decide to rehomed or not... people on here say some act like that a lot but once they are big they settle down and trust you.. the ones I had last year only two out of eight would really run from me .. now those two are still a little shy but will definitely come around so long as I don’t touch.. but the three this year pretty much freak out when I go in there to change water and feed:barnie..
Honestly, I think it’s because they copy each other! The Cuckoo Maran is crazy and now my sweet LB and SS are acting crazy and I think it’s cuz they see her freaking out so they do the same..
The “bully” EE I rehomed apparently decided to become a “mom” to her day old chicks!.... so, ya never know!

It is hard! Specially when you are new to it.... I'll post them for sale and see if anyone wants them... if not I'll just roast chicken in front of them to keep them in line:gig

do you have some poultry vitamin? She could likely use some.

I hope she does better soon!

Yes! The baby babies are safe and staying since their docile breeds. I'm keeping one maran and one amerucana and of course the black sexlink:D
I understand though.. cuz when they go crazy it’s so hard to cuddle and love on them.. I have to wear ear plugs to pick up the CM!!
Are you getting rid of the RIR? I adore my RIR! She’s fabulous!
