I woke to another adorable baby!! Nearly all dried out... i moved them to my new hova-bator to finish drying and get some water and be all toasty as Texas got flash frozen yesterday

The one in from is Dijon's baby, she's an Olive Egger.

she's so helpful...

the baby in the back is either Chase, or Hopper, or , Sundae... which are Golden Comet, RIR, and Australorp.

My family up north is just laughing at us I don't blame them... we wear shorts much longer and rub it in lol!

So when it went from 60F degrees to 32F degrees apparently my non-intelligent rooster went to my neighbor's house, and stood out in the cold and rain but hot home... just leaving my brahma girls defenseless and in the cold But it looks like they were able to protect themselves ok from the cold and rain... Toasted? Not so much, today his comb is purple... looked it up and i guess frostbite? All i can do is just wait and see how he recovers right?

I'm still mad at him for abandoning the girls but he's a pretty gentle roo so don't wanna loose him either

so my husband made me choose, i can hatch more chicks but i must sell all the young ones first. Last month it was i had to find a home or pen for the boys or cull them. My husband grew up in the city with no pets nada... when he gives these "ultimatums" he doesn't care if it makes sense or not. Last month i was lucky and was able to get a pen... this time not so lucky. I mentioned i had to get a new home for them quickly on a mewe group and a guy that i thought was ok started calling me the mattress guy that's going outta business for last 15 yrs. I was already devastated from loosing 22 developing babies due to taking care of my husband and then the ultimatum and then that guy.... it was enough. I'm not sure why people kick others when they're down

i did find a possible home for the young ones, but...... it's just been a crumby week only bright side is these cute chicks

People can be rude!

It is usually easier to sell chicks in the spring and summer. Maybe take some time off from hatching?

yeah... I'm going to have to... hubs just doesn't get it, he wants a farm but no animals or building to accommodate them
Maybe one day he'll understand. Oh well. I'm just going to try and collect all eggs and sell them and put my new incubator in storage for now.

It is hard to stop incubating!
