Flock/Life Journey's 2019

Never worked for me :idunno Maybe a call duck pair.. It's still nice to have more than just one hen, Especially if she were to lose one of the two. Then you'd have to go through all that trouble to find a new buddy for a lonely duck and introduce new birds together. And because @HuffleClaw 's duck is crested i'd definitely get more hens for the drake to breed with, If he grabs onto the duck's crest too hard he can cause serious damage to her since the "Crest" is really just fatty tissue covering a gap in the skull covered by feathers..
I’ll make an attempt to get at least two more hens sometime soon. :)

might want to find a hen or 2 to add to your lovely pair then, A single hen will get over-bred by a drake easily.. Not fun to deal with trust me  Especially now with spring right around the corner, All of my drakes are starting to get more "Active" with the days getting longer.
I had two drakes in with a hen for a long time and nothing bad really happened(of course they were calls though)

I agree. You really need to be careful with crested ducks. There can be a lot of problems, especially if you end up breeding two crested ducks; the resulting ducklings don't survive very well.

Krystal @KLIL: Just wanting to know if you've ever sat out a cyclone with chooks? We've sat out 2 here so I know the house is good to go but am less sure about the chook pen. Watching Oma head this way is not inspiring me with confidence. Hoping it will dissipate before it gets here but while we have a new, sturdier pen in mind it's not built yet ~ & we are house renovating so keeping them in the house, even temporarily is not really viable. Perhaps I should get a crate...?
