Flock/Life Journey's 2019

Great Update love! :goodpost:
So Honey and Lemon have been rehomed?
Im glad your chicks are going well now that the bullies have been moved along.
Yeah... the lady that took them home has leghorns so I'm thinking they'll be in a better group now.
I'm glad too! This first time building a flock is a little nail biting!

Ah, polydactyl! That’s the word, thanks! I wish I could open another browser on my phone to google things when I type on forums but my phone only allows one window at a time.

May I ask if Hemingway is another name for a polydactyl...I think Ernest Hemingway married his first cousin..whether or not that union resulted in children with extra fingers and toes I don’t recall. Btw I don’t mean disrespect to anyone with first cousin marriages in their ancestry, we all have them if we go back far enough.

I had a Siamese mix I trained to sit. If he wasn’t wasn’t so shy I’d have brought him to my 5th grade show n tell. I do remember a classmate bringing his baby emus to class. They were such unique looking striped gigantic chicks.

Hemingway loved polydactyl cats and had a large amount of them. So, eventually everyone started calling them Hemingway cats.

No problem:) I need to get a pressure cooker. My stepmom’s was over $100. I wonder if I can make pho with a rice cooker, probably not. The link you showed me a few weeks ago, I can’t remember what they cooked pho in?
Look for deals on pressure cookers. You can get stovetop versions fairly reasonably priced.

The guinea that got hit by a car sadly passed away last night :hmm

The hatchery sent me a message this morning saying they’ve changed the date to the 12 of April for the aylesbury ducklings :idunno

I’ve moved momma duck and her three ducklings to the chick pen, will take photos tomorrow.
I'm sorry you lost your guinea. I keep thinking I'd like some but they don't seem real smart & the lady down the road who started with a dozen is down to 2 ~ almost all road kills. And they wander. Not sure how my neighbours would feel about that.

One of my girls gave me a double yolker the other day. She squealed and hollered when laying it. It was bigger than a turkey egg.
One of my BAs lays a double yolker regularly. I feel for her but she will do it.

Good evening/morning all :)

Went to the feed store for some more chicken scratch and pellets. Of course, I fell in love with two cute little Wyandottes, but I forced myself to leave them. Still thinking about those two little guys, they remind me of when my two 9 yr old SLWs were chicks. :) Next year!
