Ohhh no egg production plummeting isn't good! I love getting my eggs on a daily basis.
I haven't had a broody chicken yet. But my mother in law had silkies. Pretty much 1 was broody at all times. I miss her chickens.

Yeah, silkies are like that. I think you're good. RIRs & Australorps aren't prone to broodiness. My Aussies aren't interested no matter how nutty my BRs get but the sad fact is they don't lay anywhere near as well as my broody girls do but unless I want to go for more independent breeds [which I don't; have to consider the grandkids ] I'll just have to deal.

Flock Update:
My ladies got to free range today for about 2 hours with me.
I had some crackers so of course they had some too.
I was sitting on the front stairs watching them and spending time with them. Ive noticed that if they can't see me they yell out for me to come with them. It sounds like a stress call so I go rushing to them but no they just want me with them. I told them about the boy who cried wolf but of course they don't care.

Here's my ladies free ranging at the front of the house.

Got 2 eggs today. Jordan messaged me this afternoon to see if we got 3 again. But I said no only 2. Its nice he gets excited like I do.

And the sunset this afternoon. Photos not as pretty as it was in real life but.

They are beautiful!!! Have you got names for them?

No names. I could never tell them apart, and I won't be keeping all of them. I've kind of stopped naming my birds for some inexplicable reason recently anyways. Only one chicken has a name, and I have over thirty chickens.

Maybe if I actually ate my birds. Who knows? It could be I'm just too lazy to come up with anything to name them...

I have 27 I think and 6 don’t have names either because I am having a hard time telling who is who, but I did just tag them and I am waiting for them to grow out to name them because I don’t know who is truly a boy They are all Cemanis so they all look the exact same

We added the branches and grass today and finally figured out how to post videos!

The main ones on branches are: Ketchup, Fajita(lil red), BBQ, and Sweet (lil guy in back corner scratching).

okay but the first 6 seconds with that reddish (EE?) chick trying to decide where to fly down was the cutest thing.
