Florida welfare drug testing

I completely agree with this. My very first thought to those opposing this is "What have you got to hide"? Honestly, if you aren't using drugs, why does it matter if they ask you to pee in a cup?

That's an interesting way of twisting it

no it isn't.. going on welfare is a choice... so you know in making that choice to try to get the hand/out you have to give them some urine.. It isn't a violation of the 4th, because NOWHERE in the constitution is public welfare, and a person is still choosing to apply for said benefits. Sorry, not even close to a constitutional issue here.

Is it unconstitutional for our bus drivers to be mandated that they are randomly drug tested?

Like i said go read the 4th amendment.

you don't understand the 4th... It isn't even applicable here.

There are some times when I just love you!

Since my husband takes mandatory drug tests for his job, which in turn pay for welfare benefits, I think it's a good idea.
If HE has to do it and NOONE is paying our way, why shouldn't someone who is benefiting from him working his behind off be forced to take a drug test?

In Katz v. United States, 389 U.S. 347 (1967), the Supreme Court ruled that the amendment's protections do not apply when the searched party lacks a "reasonable expectation of privacy".

So in regular person speak... You have no expectation of privacy if you are applying for help. You want your privacy and drugs, then don't apply for welfare.. easy peasy lemon squeezy
