Flystrike and vent problem (Graphic photos)

To anyone still watching this post...... I just now realized I never provided an update on my girl's condition. So this is a bittersweet update. But..... she did fully recover and lived a healthy life, and I'm not sure, but I believe she even resumed laying intermittently (have a few brown egg layers, so not sure what was from who).

Yesterday, she passed peacefully. She acted very normal for the past year and based on her demeanor, she was a happy, healthy bird. She started dropping weight a couple months ago, and her droppings were rarely solid. Yet, she still ate and free ranged normally. Then, the last few days she began sleeping in the corner of the coop on the floor (not normal). She got very lethargic and I knew her days were numbered. I was going back and fourth on euthanizing, and finally made the decision that it had to be done. The next day, I went out to the coop and she was curled up in the corner, she had passed overnight. I'm grateful I didn't have to put her down and I hope she was not in pain. Like I mentioned, she acted quite normal up until a few days ago.

Anyway, I want to extend my thanks to anybody who contributed to this post. You all walked me through a tough situation and I would've been in the dark without every one of you. Y'all are great!!!!

THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
