My Coop
My Coop
Ok so I've been lurking here for a few months, not registering until now.

Great resource for new start-ups.

Learned a lot that i didn't know before

parents had chickens a few years ago, I think they didn't want to maintain them anymore and sold them all off.

So I got some used equpiment and a decent cage for transporting them ut otherwise I had to start from scratch

so here's an Imgur album of my girls (i call then the white bitches) cause they are 4- 2 year old white leghorns, and have pretty much flocked up as a group.

here's the flock on the way home

children love chickenses

hmmm how to stop that pecking

patrolling their new urban yard

assembled, but pre paint and nesting box

(yes i used chicken wire instead of hardware cloth. little to no varmint problems in this city, rarely we see racoons, but they go for trash because it's far easier than getting into a coop)

first egg in the nesting box

this is my exterior filling port for dumping feed. works great, but could be larger

finished product complete with laying box.

I'm glad you joined our community.

Nice coop! Good luck with your flock.

Thanks, I get a lot of info here about best practices so I figured I'd at least contribute to the cause with some pics.

Welcome to Backyard chickens, I think the hens lay better eggs if you put Titleist Pro V's in the nest box instead of Topflights..

Lots of folks think chickens don't respond to the golf balls in nest trick - your hen is proof, they do..
