~Fools Gold~ (a daring role play)

“So you’re currently on Neverseen? How far are you?” Amer danced on her toes, displaying her complete lack of grace and coordination. “I’m doing this to you because this is what my best friend did to me, and therefore, I am forcing a book-club on you. I’ll have to tell her about our new member.”
"I actually finished it yesterday," Sary admitted. Seeing Amer's fidgeting feet inspired her to fix her own feet in the weird ankle-twist-backward thing she does unconsciously and only can do unconsciously. "And I'm totally game for book clubbing." Her eyebrows abruptly dropped and made her eyes slit, making her look very estranged indeed. "But do I ever have some complaints for Ms. Messenger."

“Mrs. Messenger. Yes. She does have cliffhangerish tendencies. Which book was Neverseen? Number four? I can’t remember much about it except that Keefe joined them then.” Amer began figeting and tapping her fingers on her hips. She became quite the sight to see when she couldn’t have something in her hands to play with. During one period of her life she began destructively ripping her hair out out of habit, which led to her getting an undershave.

"Wait, she's married?" Sary was genuinely surprised. "When'd that happen?" She knew Amer's fidgeting was going to become contagious sooner than later, but for now she maintained a studious stillness. "And, yes, Keefe joined them."

“I always read the About the Author at the end of the book. I think it’s so cool Shannon Messenger has blond hair and brown eyes like Sophie. And an embarrassing number of cats.” Amer’s tapping evolved into a very specific rhythm, one that years in band had cultivated. ”Yep, he joined them.” Her voice was cheerful as ever.

Sary twitched, trying to fight the temptation to fidget and at the same time curtailing herself from forcefully ripping the future out of Amer. "I'm...I don't want to...I can't...no," she finally concluded, shutting her eyes tight against all of the pressure.
