Foot infection?

After my rooster had foot surgery, the instructions were to change the dressing every other day.

It’s been about a week since the initial attempt to get the infection out. I’ve just been changing the bandage every 2 days. The swelling looks a lot better. Should I keep up with putting on Neosporin and bandages?

It’s hard to tell because it’s hot outside but it doesn’t feel warmer than the other foot.

I might bandage it with the ointment for a couple more days. It also looks like the chicken also has scaly leg mites. In the first photos, I had not noticed the scaly leg mites. I would start applying vaseline or a thick oil to the scales of the legs twice a week for a month or two until new healthy scales start to appear. Here is an article about scaly leg mites:

I took a few close ups of the chickens legs, I thought this was just how they look. You think it’s the scaly leg mites?
