For People In The North East......* Heat Wave* & *Bad Storms*

Around 5:45pm we had a nasty short storm. High winds, limbs down, dime sized hail... It stopped, but I hear it rumbling and winds are picking up again. I shut off DH's AC since the temp's dropped significantly. All my windows are open with towels on the sills.

I want the wind, but not the water.

I just checked the NOAA weather again, and I have lots of storms comming, and am now in a severe weather watch.

Storms just passed through. We lost power for a few hours.

DH was on his way home from work and ended up jumping out of the truck several times to help clear trees off the road.

He was so proud of the "country folk" around us. He said that he would come to a down tree and people would all be stopped and jumping out of their cars to help. Some with chainsaws, some with tow cables, everyone was pitching in to get the road clear.

Not something we would have seen in the Jersey suburb we escaped from.

He got home very grubby, but happy. Nice to see he can have fun in these sorts of situations. I'm just hoping he didn't destroy what is left of the truck's transmission towing trees off the road.

Weather is beautiful now and the tree frogs are singing!

storms are closing in on us now... wind picked up all the sudden, you can just tell they're near. We went to make sure everything's secured. I hope the chickies aren't too scared out in the barn!

we had some nice storms here and it feels so good out side.. it's not hot nice an cool with a cool breez. i could sleep out side tonight

Only had about 15 minutes of rain around 11:15 but high winds. Other parts of CT had bad storms and lost power. It is cooler and much less humid outside. Inside the school is another story!
