All my chickens have stopped or slowed way down in egg production. 9 hens and 1-2 eggs a day. Most of the eggs I do get have mystery things in them. Little chunks. Not bloody or old brown blood like regular meat spots. And also these whispy black string like things. The black stringy things are so whispy and not exact so I didn’t suspect them to be a worm but it still troubling.
The hens are totally free range. Eating lots of plants and bugs in the yard. They have layer feed available. They get meal worms, raw sunflower seeds (the kind for people) and sometimes a bit of bread or table scraps. They appear to be an appropriate weight, not under weight or over.
No noticeable moulting. Or lice or mites. No coughing, nasal discharge or unhealthy symptoms. They seem perfect except for whatever the heck is going on with egg production and surprises in the eggs. HELP!?!

That one was fresh that day. Went from nest to what was supposed to be my breakfast.

The pics are all of the same egg. Though they all look the same when I open them. The black whispy stuff was in the egg white but I don’t recall seeing any stuck to the inside of the shell.
