Is there such thing as fostering chicks and chickens? If so has anyone done it before? Does anyone know if there are any places like that near Pensacola, Fl?

I have heard of chicken fostering. I do not know any places that do that, in Florida or not.
Check different animal rescues near you.

I can only imagine the bio security and quarantine nightmare involved with fostering chickens. One sick bird could contaminate your entire area for months or longer, potentially endangering every foster chicken that you take.

Yeah, I'd never do this type of thing either and not just for biosecurity reasons. Since they quarantine, biosecurity wouldn't be at the top of my list as to why not, but many of us know that quarantine is not a guarantee. Life doesn't come without risks anyway.

This doesn't even come close to my goals with chickens. I don't need more pets, I have dogs. Many people on here have chickens as pets, some even have house chickens. Since it's them doing it and not me it doesn't bother me.
