Found a chicken on the road and took it home...

CX are some of the sweetest birds, there is something in the way they look at you, I find it quite touching. I would not expect it to live a long life so don't freak out if one day out of the blue it has passed, its often from heart issues due to the speed that they grow and how huge they get.
Not sure if I have let you know what a kind and wonderful thing I think you have done for her. No matter how long she lives, she will have a wonderful, happy life. What a wonderful holiday gift to all. :hugs

Krispy is continuing to do well! She is HUGE! She is perching with our other birds and going up and down the coop ramp. Well, it's more of a "controlled" fall. She is so front heavy that she can't hold herself upright when going down...but other than that, she is doing great. She is eating lots of treats, running...err...waddling around the paddock and cooing. I think she's fairly happy...as happy as a chicken can be, I suppose. View attachment 1213978

So glad you gave her a second chance for some happiness as a real chicken, instead of what she was headed for. Glad she is doing well.

And thanks for the update!! Great job. :ya

But you can take comfort in the fact that she lived the rest of her life as a normal chicken and was loved

I love that you all are so interested and loving. Its good to know I'm not the only crazy one who might see a stranded chicken and take a chance. As I've stated before, you can follow her on Instagram at BigKrispyRescue to see how she's doing. She's a pretty bird, even if she is a little overweight.
