found baby bird.. help

I will look for someone who can take care of him. He is doing better since the water and grasshopper. Ive caught a few more bugs for tomorrow. Could I give it unsalted whole grain crackers mashed with water and bugs?

You can do as I suggested earlier soak kitten food in hot water, I also like to feed a little bit of smashed up boiled egg. You can scrounge for bugs too, I find earthworms the easiest and with a little bit of digging in rich soil you should find some.

You can also get mealworms from the petstore and chop them up to feed the bird. When you are feeding him does he lift his head up moving it back and forth with an open mouth, or is he too weak to do that?

He has made a bm and urinated. Still sleeping soundly. Stretches/flails every now and then with his mouth open. Should I keep a towel over the bowl to keep draft out? I will check pet store tomorrow for the meal worms. I dont have an incubator but will a heating pad on lowest setting and a folded up towel with the bowl on top work as one?

Walmart carries earthworms or crickets sometimes in the fishing department. You can cut up the worms since they are kind of long. For heat, but the bird under a 60 watt bulb. A desk lamp with a 60 watt bulb should provide some heat. Or pick up a red bulb at a pet store for heat. They carry those for reptiles.

I wouldnt give it water at that age i have raised a few wild birds and you dont give them water as qild bird chicks get the nutrients from the insects .......make sure you feel its crop and every time it feels 3/4 empty give it something to eat ( best off giving it mealworms, grasshoppers, crickets and anything similar but make sure you mix it up a little

He's alot better today. Sitting up instead of laying. breathing is normal. I have a number for a local rehabilitator. going to see if they can take him even though they just do skunks, racoons, and opossums.

I cant get him to eat today. Im using some spare tweezers to feed with. I cant get him to open his mouth. is there a way to safely open his mouth? Im going to the pet store to buy meal worms on my lunch break. He is just so little. I dont want to hurt him.
