Found baby chick! What do I do??

Warmth and water are probably enough to get it through the night. Boiled or scrambled egg cut into very small pieces will work if it's hungry.

edit: saw you have no eggs. Soak some dry cat food in warm water until it's soft. Not the best diet, but will work in a pinch.

That's so awesome you rescued him! I know they look delicate, but don't be fooled- chicks are very strong little birds! You'd be surprised!

First, take a deep breath. It will be ok even if the temp isn't 100% perfect. Holding the chick in your hands can help to warm it up. If you use a heating pad just make sure it doesn't get too hot. Or, you could set it in the box next to a little space heater to get some radiant heat.

You could also stick some stuffed animals or something in with it so it has something to snuggle up with and get warmer with!

Scrambled eggs, oatmeal, yogurt are all good for little chicks.

I’m so glad you rescued him and gave him another chance, Great work! Hopefully he’ll be happy and thrive in his new home!

Hi everyone!
Turns out it's a she! She made it through the night and I got an egg to feed her in the morning and she wolfed it down! We left her alone for one hour and she did manage to make it out of her box, off the desk and all the way across our apartment in that time, but apart from that she was absolutely fine, and she's been sent off to her new home now with about 20 other chicks. Thanks everyone for your help!
