Found source for *FREE* styrofoam boxes/lids!!

Our university's research labs throw them out - and hate having to do it.

Sometimes they make it to the local farmers' market and we give them away for free.

One other thing to ask about when you are asking about the styrofoam boxes is if they also throw out the 'blue ice' that many come with to keep stuff cold. Better than buying it for keeping your eggs cold at Market.

yup! I mix chemotherapy for OSU and get these extra thick foam boxes all the time!
I made my bator from one recently (12/15) along with a old waterbed heater that i cut the heat pad from and wired a light fixture to! the thermostat goes to 101 and has a 2 degree swing! Perfect! My chicks hatched yesterday!

Wow, LOTS of cool places to get freebie styro boxes!!! I had no idea they were being wasted so routinely, lots of BYCers have paid $ to buy boxes for home made 'bators!

And like Volume904 said, is bad stuff for the environment!!!!
