he came back today, at 3 pm. Full daylight. I was putting the baby in the crib and glanced out the back window, and there's the darn fox, hopping up and down trying to figure a way into the run. I grabbed a broom and ran out the back door yelling like an idiot, and he just looked at me, then went back to scoping out the fence. He is absolutely beautiful, full coat, lovely colors, no signs of mange or anything like that, so I called the dogs outside and when he saw them, he jumped over my five foot fence easy as can be and ran like hell. He didnt get fed today, cuz all the birds were locked in the run, thank goodness. So, for the next few days at least, I'm keeping everybody locked up unless I'm out in the yard with them until I can catch the stupid thing. dh says we can't eat fox, so it seems a shame to kill him, but if he keeps coming back, it's his own fault.
I'm not a hunter but if a fox gets into my coop & gets my girls, after all the energy & money I've put into them, the fox is going to find a bullet in his body. the fox can find plenty of food elsewhere!
