I don’t let my young chickens intermingled with the older ones until they’re laying eggs. My poor rooster is getting just as impatient too. LOL

I waited 7 months for both my Jersey Giants!!! I love the look the Barred Rock is giving you. Looks like they may be getting close though!

My first black jersey giant. Do they like giant eggs to? I love her. She is gorgeous but probably the most skittish of the bunch

This is the new flock I purchased on March 3. Free loaders! They have a brand new 8 x 12 coop expanded run 640 ft.² and even a dag on chicken swing. Pampered But eggs? Nope! I purchased one barred rock, one jersey giant, 2 ISA brows, 2 Easter Eggers , 2 New Hampshire reds and 2 sienna stars. We’re at 21 weeks and sill nothin!

your practically there. some are getting ready to lay they appear. It's hard to wait sometimes tho. I am getting eggs from (2)of my 18 week old white leghorns and all 5 of my 19 week old EE's are laying. one started at 17 weeks old. My youngest to start ever so far. Now I wonder when my Easter hatch will start laying. Am I never satisfied?

Mine are more on the skittish side, they're pretty human friendly though. The two of them actually made a sub-flock with my 18 week Lavender Orpintons and my 16 week Barred Rocks & Australorps. So far no large eggs, they still weigh in around medium but they've only been laying for about 3 weeks. They are extremely beautiful though!

You should put your rooster with them,any that squat for your rooster means their very close to laying

I tried to integrate early this time but my RIR are so mean. So put the wire back. Poor man paces in front of the wire... just waiting

I feel like 21 weeks is longer than I’ve waited ever. Maybe not. Haven’t gotten newbies in 2 years.

Put the rooster with the pullets,just him alone.Maybe you will get a good result.I usually integrate males before hens.
