This is the new flock I purchased on March 3. Free loaders! They have a brand new 8 x 12 coop expanded run 640 ft.² and even a dag on chicken swing. Pampered But eggs? Nope! I purchased one barred rock, one jersey giant, 2 ISA brows, 2 Easter Eggers , 2 New Hampshire reds and 2 sienna stars. We’re at 21 weeks and sill nothin!

I am sure it’s going to be soon. They are all looking pretty mature with fully colored combs. I love the mixed flock! The rainbow of colors is so fun to watch. I went this route myself. Anxiously awaiting our first eggs as well!! Good luck!

I needed to mix things up this time around. Our flock that we have had is just Rhode Island and leghorn red mixes. Which are great producing chickens and they are great but wanted mix it up a bit

My husband said he checked but didn’t see it but when I fed everybody at 3:30 this morning I found it. Whoever it was decided to cover it with a little bit of straw. But laid in the nesting box like a good girl. Now I only have nine free loaders. LOL woo hoo !!!! Now it’s a case of who done it. They must’ve known I was talking about them yesterday

Nine more to go now. Then I can start free ranging. Like my husband says you must earn your freedom at our house. LOL. I’m assuming it was her because of the color and she is a week older than the other nine
