I had a hen that acted the same way after staying in the coop for a week without any access to plants though so I'm not sure if would be plants. Also, I've heard charcoal is good for getting rid of pests like mites and bugs. If it's in your emergency kit, do you let them eat it?Just thinking cause they act weird fir a few mins the return to normal that it could be something they shouldn’t eat
Doesn’t explain the ones that disappeared though
I keep the charcoal in my emergency kit in case
So far I haven’t used it but if ever I need to it’s there
They do have a various age flock with hens and roosters up to 3 years old around them.Older hens and roosters teach the young chicks how to hide, what to eat and the hierarchy of the flock. If you don't an existing flock to protect them they won't make it. Young animals need protection esp prey animals.
