If a partridge was brooded and raised by a flock of free range chickens and handled regularly, would it stay around? Thanks!

Any quail, partridge or pheasant of any kind that gets it's freedom, under any conditions, is history.

I have to disagree with the other comments, I actually got mine to do that....free range them. I have goldens and ringnecks free ranged, they were hatched and raised by chicken mothers.

You are one of the extremely extremely rare exceptions for that. Unless there is no food and water available outside in the wilderness (AKA a barren desert) to where he would HAVE to come back home to survive, when a bird leaves his fully enclosed pen, hes old news.

Well we are surrounded by woodland and lots of waterways, I ahve friends who also free range a few pheasants, I've never had a problem, the male ringnecks tend to wander a bit but always come back.
