I have always wanted to visit New Orleans, seems like such a romantic city.

Its really beautiful if you look for it, most people ignore the beauty for the ghettos but imo the swamp and the french arch. are worth your time.

Oh, I soooo want to!!!
That's perfect for a meet up of the Frog inhabitants... :gig

Its only 5 1/2 hrs to memphis from here ;)

Gorgeous pics... hmmm... just thinking new year, maybe a change...
Only if that cute duck has an unsharpened pencil gripped in its webs... :gig
Why not? :plbb
You're getting tired of looking at the woman with a tear in her eye, but she won't tell you why. Now you want to try something new and fresh to perk you up? If one of us tried that we'd be called a pig :smack
If you must, use that Michael Stipe image I put up last week

will do...
I don't know a new avatar for New Year?
Might be good...your choice... :hugs

:hugs

Just thinking so far, dunno yet...

Just thinking different... thought I'd see if ya'll had any GOOD ideas... :tongue

So I'm kind of panicking!! I ordered the spot check and it came today. (I just thought it would be good to have since I'm hatching a lot.) I put it in the vent hole and lowered it down just over the eggs (actually in a free spot, right next to an egg but at egg level) and it's reading 101.8. My thermometer with the brinsea is reading 99.5. I'm going to run to the store and get some ice, so I can calibrate another glass thermometer I have and put it in there. If it is almost 102, will it kill the eggs? I mean I had one batch in there for 18 days and they are all still alive (still just 1 pip). Could the spot check be off? Are you supposed to calibrate them before you use them?

Put a paper towel across the bottom of the incubator dipping into both wells. That will help get your lockdown humidity up!

That is the plan!
20 made lockdown, 2 are questionable. I have great hatches at 40%. Much higher than 42% and they start drowning. You will feel better after a hatch or two, but the 20 is rock solid.
These are my first AMs hatching this weekend, and I will set another batch as soon as the incubator is clean

I hope the 40% is good for these too. So are the girls laying good now?? Good luck on the hatch tonight/tomorrow!

Nope....and still did not show.

What??!! Did you talk to the post office??

Calm down, it's ok. You may have some early hatches, but that's not fatal. Did you check more than one spot? I get readings from 98.9-101.5
I wouldn't make any drastic changes now, unless you would feel better dropping one degree

I'm waiting to hear back from Pyxis forst. She is checking on her end because that was the only place tracking was ever updated. So....just a waiting game at this point. And on top of it they are going to be getting hit by a nasty snow storm....so going to make it extremely difficult...I think.

X2

Take a deep breath... always calibrate any thermometer no matter the name on it... plus I heard about a whole batch of the spot checks running a couple degrees off...

And being a little high is ok... I run mine closer to 101 anyways and have better results...
