French frogs

I'm going to copy your idea...

My future bro in law is a cabinet maker so while he's still trying to earn brownie points with the family I'm going to get him to help me build one for my basement. That will also reduce the likelihood of me cutting off another digit. I'm not often original but always opportunistic.

Nothing wrong with being opportunistic! I have a full woodworking shop but this is just circular saw, chop saw and cordless drill work.

I figured out my one door and screen vs two doors dilemma. More to come...

I've got two hens that are throwing some weird eggs. The smaller one is just a young pullet starting to lay, I think. I'm guessing one of my older hens on the other one...
Left egg is caused by the next egg in the chute while that one was still forming... happens in newer layers, but can happen in older ones too... right egg is called 'body checked' and it can happen in any hen of any age... while it is calcifying, something disturbed it and it is repaired while still forming... happens from stress, sudden startlement, or who knows what else, lol...
Wow they do look similar! Very cool. And yes, long day here too. My whole body is sore. Turkey is good tonite :)
Yup, yup, yup... I'm at the point if I have a drink I may not get back up though... :/
Little college girl not too far from us raises Silkies, Javas, BCM, English BO, Lemon Cuckoo Orps, etc...
Nice!! Lemon Cuckoos are pretty, Javas are fairly popular too...
Today was a day with family, but I managed to get a little done on the brooder. I built the trays to which the hardware cloth will be attached. They are designed to slide out for pressure washing. Now to figure out the door/face frame configuration and I can get it running for the upcoming hatches.
Please, come over and do mine next... :bow

Out of necessity. Our house is old and standard 1960s cabinetwork was jammed into the butler's pantry extending out into the doorway between the butler's pantry and the kitchen, and decrepit home made pine 1970s "country colonial" cabinetry in the kitchen in a bizzare layout (the dishwasher door opened across the same doorway). Since standard cabinetry did not fit the spaces, and full custom cabinetry is insanely expensive, we had a couple of ancient oaks sawed by a portable sawmill. I built our cabinets, butler's pantry countertop, laundry/powder room countertops out of quartersawn white and scarlet oak. The tools paid for themselves on the first project.

I also spent a few years as a restoration contractor and earned all the money back again.

Now it just sits in the former guest room buried under chicken stuff...

Me, too! Always wanted a wood shop. I had never seen a Lemon Cuckoo Orp before. They are pretty. The mottled Javas she had were impressive, too.
My little wife is sawing timber on the couch! :gig That still tickles me for some reason. Zzzzzzzz.

If your bored you could come south and help me and Phe Phantom finish projects next week! I took the week off prior to my little accident. My wife's been helping me build a coop and I'm a better laborer than supervisor.

When I asked OH where the tools were he handed me a few sockets and wrenches.......

We made a big jump in our tools at my insistence, but we don't have the room for all that I want, lol...

I bet those cabinets are more gorgeous than anything you could find in a store... :)

I guess it's because she's so prim and proper. I take videos of her sometimes. Makes her furious. If she gets still for a second, she's history!

I'd take you up on that but the closest I'm getting to SC is Raleigh on a work trip...work keeps me busy, and chicks fill the rest of my time.
