I was having so much fun watching the chicks hatch that I forgot to lock down my turkey eggs. Oops...

They are in the cooler with a couple of chicks still fluffing up.

I hate when the temperature goes up after a long cold spell . it drops alittle and seems like it a lot colder than it is , but 7 below is cold anywhere . 70 plus yesterday 50 today 30 tonight . I wish it would stay hot or cold . but that is what living here is like .so I have a cold that will last for weeks .

Speaking of hot wings, hubby and I went to our local wings and brewery tonight for dinner. First dinner out since before his surgery! He didn't last long. The wings didn't agree with him, but the beer helped :D

It was cold here, so the indoor humidity was consistently dry. It took a long time to get the humidity up in the Eco, and once it was up it would not go back down, leading to fat bellied, puffy necked, sticky chicks. There is no easy way to drain the reservoirs without disturbing the hatch. Airflow really is minimal in there.
Just curious - What humidity do you like to hatch at?

It's always dry here, so I'm glad I have the advance with the humidity pump. Last hatch with both wells full and paper towels across the bottom, it was around 55%. I just use the pump to bump up the humidity the extra %.
