Um... what? Ruffling feathers?
Do you think it's running too dry? It's not the Frankenbator. I'm incubating in Frankenbator, but hatching in a $100 foam incubator. I think it's an LG, but I'm not sure. It has a fan (not exposed) and the temp is preset.
I think what we were both saying is that we trust the Frankenbator more than the styro
Too dry, too wet, too hot, too cold or wide swings between all of the above. I've just heard too many horror stories about styrofoam. Of course, it could be something else, but I wonder.....
That's great! Does the bloom streaks happen because they are pullets? I had that too, just a tiny bit.
Oh, I thought you were keeping the ducks! I hope you get grow out pics!!
And they are all alive at lockdown? Can you try to do a hatch in the frankenbator just to compare results and narrow down if it really is the hatcher?
I see. I do have enough room to hatch in the frankenbator, but it would mean that the humidity would have to be high for the duration of the other eggs incubation. Anyone have experience doing this?
Maybe I will try it with the next batch.
thanks for the kind words! I need to start taggin you anytime i post those kinda updates. No i dont ask for any sort of deposit, But she cant hurt me even if she "sticks" me with all these pullets, you know? I could always sell em, its just an excuse to Buy the 50 eggs to set that individual also? Will grow out my 7 current cockrels, which i have a proccessed chicken buyer for too. You keeping a notbook w all that customer info like i told you right?!
Maybe move the non-lockdown eggs to the styro for those 3-4 days?
