I didnt start having children until 32...Oh well I got lucky.
I guess I just figured a chicken was not considered old until 5. But I am hardly a bird expert...not even knowledgeable layperson.

LOL, Just medical statistics.

People that were off having kids on their own did not end up in our office.

Oh I know. Before I found this site, I was a member of a women's health app. Ibwas very surprised at the number of infertile women, many older but some still young. I was being genuine when I called myself lucky.

If she hasn't gotten so wise that the roo can't catch her, as long as she is laying and not double yolkers there is no issue. I hatched all the green egg EEs from my 5 year old EE hen (hatchery Am).
LOL. One does try to beat him up every so often. My old ladies definitely bossy. No double yolkers so far; most have had nice bullseyes.

We are the same here. One night I did lock all the doors of the house because DH was gone for the weekend (you know to ward against all the psycho serial killers out there) Ran out to do chores and locked myself out of the house, with the girls inside :/ It wasn't to big of a deal because the large windows on my porch were still unlocked :lau screens are easily popped out. I realized, that made locking the doors a bit pointless
I can totally see that happening...:lau

So the spot check is all over the place when I move it. From 97.6 to 102.5. Can there possibly be that much variance in a smallish, forced air incubator? I did have to add water and I got two cool pics. One is just the embryo. The other is a total side air cell, fixed...on a non-shipped, fresh laid egg.

Almost home. Mrs. Flock says no chicks, but she's not good at spotting pips
