Whoa!!! That is super cool!!!

:weee :yiipchick

I have 2 or 3 pips this morning!
I've had some like that!

Finally!!! :yiipchick
SCflock, I think you'd like welsummers. They're awnry. As chicks they go after the toes and eyeballs of their siblings and grow up to be fairly chatty. Beautiful large eggs that are a terracotta. Mine aren't perfect, Scrambled lays a latte colored base with terracotta splatters and speckles.

That's a cool color!!!

Love it!!

These marans are laying some crazy wild eggs lately.

Wanna play guess the weight in gram?

When I get home I will post what my BCM hen laid for me yesterday. It is her second egg she has ever laid for me!

Congrats to you all.  I've been battling a virus all week, I think it has finally got the upper hand.  Gonna hit a steaming hot bath and see if I can boil it out of me.  'Night, all.  Happy hatching!

Oh no!! Feel better soon!! :hugs

Look at those quailies!!! Super cute!

SC......I am in Charleston! !! Close but still too far from you!

Thanks I think I'm going to copy and paste all the comments and make a little notebook for future reference. Are you saying keep the red plugs in until lockdown?

Good morning OZ I have two of the FI incubators and yes that has been my practice keep the humidity plugs in until lock down. I incubated in them and then locked down in a old metal bower . Early spring last year I started doing that. the two incubators ran from March till Sept. running completely dry . but they were open to the elements . had to work hard to guard against heat spikes. average hatch rate 50% . hatching mixed color eggs from my flocks . Having central heat and air makes a difference. the more stable the environment the better they work . like I said my tops fit lose and there are air gaps . you can see these if you shine a light around the seam where the top sits on the bottom . keep an eye on ambient humidity and temperature . this Will help you . say if the room it is in runs at 60% humidity and your trying to get 30% humidity and all that moist air is allowed to flow freely into the Incubator . the best small incubator will struggle under those conditions to maintain the lower humidity . you may need to put a dehumidifier in the room . food for thought I must run now DW calls .
