I think you're on the right track, Phil... bet you see better results in the long run keeping them on layer... my free rangers eat way less feed than the confined flock...

Thanks I think so...my ducks are totally free range....although my wife wants to build a large fenced in space with a small pond for them to hang in
Only because as the flock grows we don't want to start irritating the few neighbors we have.
