French frogs

There are Ancona ducks, and Ancona chickens. Ancona chickens are beautiful and flighty, not well suited to close captivity. Since my surplus cockerels were too lightweight to bother with processing, I took them up to the woods to eat ticks. They did a good job for most of the summer, then the last one finally disappeared.
Then hens are pretty good layers, right? ETA: didn't see the pics. Those are pretty ducks!

Along with my knees heating pad doesn't help neither . just have to tough it out . So Howdy Do every body . made it through the dinner and the play. Dinner wasn't so great Rumors was the play . At a place called Chaffins Barn old Diary barn converted into a theater . Tourist trap I reckon . Like all plays it was good and bad . Didn't cost me anything so it was all good . Dinner was a buffet the salad thank god was good . roast beef and assorted veggies all from cans . But I didn't have to cook so was all right with me .I enjoyed meeting some of the people DW works with .So all and all not to bad of a evening out .And yes I behaved and only had two drinks .would have had more but they closed the bar when the play started

:lau. Trophy husband! I love it!

The hens had about 50% rate of lay.  Not impressive.  But they could forage for 100% of their nutritional needs as long as they could find the ground.

:gig Okay. I can scratch Anconas off my "To Try" list.

I have to point out that when I got to about ten hens, I realized I don't need super layers cuz I couldn't sell all the eggs that super layers such as Ten leghorns, would lay. My Bresse lay nearly daily anyway.

Are your ducks broody ? And I thought Anconas were chickens?

Whose ducks broody? Debs or mine?

And what Walnut said... Ancona in ducks is a breed, plus it is a pattern as well... kind of like a paint horse...

They're a dual purpose duck, good for eggs or meat... and endangered... I have a friend that breeds gorgeous tricolor Anconas...

It's a chicken, Dan.

No!!!! Really???? :ep :th
