The hens had about 50% rate of lay. Not impressive. But they could forage for 100% of their nutritional needs as long as they could find the ground.

I have to point out that when I got to about ten hens, I realized I don't need super layers cuz I couldn't sell all the eggs that super layers such as Ten leghorns, would lay. My Bresse lay nearly daily anyway.
