French frogs

Wow some of you all sound angry about little dogs....i don't care what anyone dog does.... My neighbors have big dogs that just bark all day and all night.... And they are half deaf so they don't hear them..... Either way I've had big dogs all my life till now.... Now I just want small dogs... Easy to travel with..... And I don't know about All these behavior problems you all speak of my dogs are well behaved
You've never met my Sister in law's Shih-tzu. **** thing ripped my dress at Christmas dinner one year trying to climb into my lap to eat off my plate. It's never been told no because "that would be mean and might hurt it's feelings". She finally started putting him in her bedroom when people come over because he's such a pain.

It's the lack of training that's the problem, not the dog. You just tend to see bad behavior more often in very small dogs that are treated like babies and have no set boundaries.

I'm watching the neighbor boy (Miles)
Little league game tonight.... Although I'm missing my tiger game... Hope everyone is good....
Sounds like a lot of fun! Hope his team wins.

Thank your DH for me. Dudley is a hoot. He has done surprisingly well with my birds. I still don't trust him around the babies until they get a little bigger, or I'm there supervising, but I've been lucky so far.
Moonshine, my big light Brahma went at him a couple times this weekend. Ever heard the saying "tucked tail and ran"? Yep, that's what he did :gig

Poor Dudley! DH laughed! He's really cute and pugs do have a lot of personality!

You really got the nail on the head there. I am a person who accepts and expects nothing more or less of a small dog than a large. ......too many people fail to train their dogs and it is especially true with little toy breeds. I am not anti small dog, I am anti untrained, illbehaved annoying dog. It similar to how people will often expect less/accept bad behavior of a mini horse vs a regular horse....not me, horse is a horse, dog is a dog, size doesn't matter....I hold them all to high standards of behavior of/when under my charge. Sad thing is the isdue isn't the snimal, it's the owner. ..but the animal is the one who pays the price when lack of training causes am issue

Completely agree! It really is the owner!

It's my fault, I started it all

My daschund doesn't listen when he's outside.... Likes to run with his nose stuck to the ground.... That's Why he can't run Loose where RC my other dog can.

Well silly! He is a daschund

So I now know how to get rid of the Jehovah Witness guy that keeps showing up. Let my 2year old answer the door naked

She is always running around naked anyway, so this should be easy.

I couldn't stop laughing!!!! That's really funny!! Did u do it?!

LMAO too!!

Lol not quite. I had answered the door and was trying to politely get him to leave (I know polite does not work with them). I told him I was busy and then little miss ma'am walks up to me naked as the day she was born, not a care in the world. He gave me his magazine and left, easy as that.

You don't know cuz you aren't that type of 'owner'... I don't mind any animal that is well behaved, large or small... ;)

Outta poke you...... :plbb

It is more difficult now to avoid him in the summer because we are always out and about. During the winter the girls and I hide from him. I know it is awful I am teaching my children to avoid a problem rather then face it. But they cannot be gotten rid if short of rudeness, and then I make myself feel guilty for being a B. :) Besides it us fun, we play ninjas and slink against the walls, to get to the basement :D

I will tell you... Yes my Weiner dog."Seven" is a yapper.... But he only barks when someone comes to the door or he's outside and a stranger is around.
Sounds like guard dog qualities to me.... Except no one told him he was 6" tall.....:lau
Now I never thought I would own a little dog but once I had a daschund I think that it's the only kind of dog I'll ever have again.
Seven has been the happiest dog I've ever owned.... And he always wants to spread his happinesses to anyone who will let him.
And as far as big dogs go i loved my big dogs.......i still like big dogs just don't want to own one again.....

Ditto! Aren't you glad mockingbirds aren't as big as turkeys. We've got a chihuahua who gets bullied by my chickens, a border collie mix who would live with my chickens if I let her, and a Lab who couldn't care less about anything except a frisbee and food.
