I gots peanuts!!

How long before harvest ? You eat them boiled ? had some once and they tasted like pinto beans . I'll stick to the beans .Brings back memories though . Raised them when I was very young .I had forgotten that till now .

LOL - more tempting than you know, but at the moment it is looking more and more like the time to close out our flock completely is potentially very close so will be some time before I add any birds to my life again........

The closest I've been to the chicks since I gave them to Frieda (got my leg in the frame on purpose).

I planted them in april. I do, I'll also eat them raw or roasted.

But seriously--Fudge is a BCM from Ravyn, and the others are 3 BR and 3 RIR (might be Production Reds, depending on which hatchery delivered that Friday--one possibility has both RIR and Production Reds, while the other says it has only RIR...)

And a gallery!

Easy way to tell if the chicks are RIR or Production Reds. RIR have black accent feathers in body and tail, Production Reds almost always have white or simply all buff.

Well, we just found 2 large holes coming up the pipe in my room. Carbon monoxide has been leaking 20 feet from my head for awhile now.. from the hot water heater! I'm still shocked and scared but it explains a lot of my symptoms. Its been going on we think for awhile. And my favorite blue boy is acting sick . I've started Corid, I don't know. It's been a muesed up day all the way around..

that's not good....fix it now....I wouldn't sleep with out shutting that hot water heater off....now probably wouldn't be the time to joke about the holes being drilled and a new life insurance policy would it?
