I hadn't heard about your dogs either, Tex. I did wonder how those punks managed to steal your car with your guard dogs on duty, but I didn't want to ask. I'm sorry you lost them.
I looked into getting an Antalion Shepherd as a livestock guardian dog. They're supposed to be VERY protective and effective against all predators (including humans.)

I have a german shepard mix and he only goes after the small chicks if they escape. The rest of them he herds into a corner and brks his fool head off til we come put them back. Adult chickens are completely safe with that dog. He is also a very good watch dog. His bark is totally different when there is something in the yard and a couple weeks ago he probably saved the entire flock as well as major injury to the horses.
