The Hope turnoff is before Canyon Creek.
I thought the highway paralled Six Mile Creek then crossed Canyon Creek then the turnoff in what used to be a left curve in the highway as you are going south. Six Mile continued on and was paralled by the Hope Road. Did they change the highway that much with the highway being rerouted at the curve? I'm talking 1994 here.
Hmm, well, as memory serves (And I could be wrong...) I go around the corner and up the hill, cross several creeks, then there is a small bridge (Six MIle, I would guess) and then the junction to Hope with rest stop etc. then vere left and continue up a bit, swing back right and then hit the big rest stops and really big bridge over canyon creek gorge which is fairly deep. Not sure where the highway used to run and I can't find my milepost to look it up for verification.
I drive by so many signs, I read them but don't remember them. I'm more visual. I know the hills, the tree patterns and the terrain, not so much the signs. Sorry.
But there is a really cool paved bike path along the highway from the big bridge to the hope cutoff. And the hike down to canyon creek is easy but steep. It's real pretty down by the water in the summer.
