So I hatched a number of chicks last week that come from a mixed pen. There was a white frizzled cochin roo, splash silkie roo, white cochin rooster. The hens were a splash silkie hen, buff silkie hen, black silkie hen and a white cochin hen. I was given a pile of eggs from these and hatched 13 out. I am starting to see some definite frizzling in some of the chicks. What I wanted to know - if it has the frizzle gene it's obvious? It shouldn't show up in later breeding if the chick shows no signs of being frizzled?
