I've been looking everywhere for fizzles. Any breed/color except the Polish & Serama ones (they aren't cold hardy).
Would prefer a started pullet (to be aquired now) but will take chicks or even fertile eggs (to be aquired in April/may).
Im in NJ & can pickup locally or I will pay for shipping.
Please pm me with what you have available & price.
All the hatcheries I have looked at are sold out for 2014 already or don't have any avail till August.
I have a couple frizzle questions: First off, do they molt worse than smooth birds? Also, how do they handle cold weather? Are they able to adequately trap air under their feathers to insulate themselves?
I've seen a lot of crosses and my question is: are the Frizzles as docile as Silkies? Or does it depend on the mix? It appears to me that the vast majority of photos of these birds seem to indicate that they are indeed quite docile and of good temperament. I'm sure there are exceptions to the rule as each has their own personality, but it seems that they make for good birds that like people and can make good pets for small children, or am I wrong on that? I still new to all this chicken stuff- but got my first Silkie last week and love him to bits. I am now keen on acquiring some Sizzles and Frizzles. Their "bad hair day" look is very endearing to me, LOL.
Our Cochin Frizzles are very sweet and ride on my son's shoulders like a parrot. She is adorably sweet.
