FROG Jam

Now I've got this great FROG jam recipe and have to find some fresh figs! No fig trees up here north of Detroit, darn it. I'll have to check our local fruit markets that carry "exotic" fruit, or maybe the Eastern Market in Detroit has them. They cater to thousands of Middle Easterners in the Dearborn area, so I'll bet I can find them there. Wish me luck!

so did you visualize them whole, or minced?

Whole, looking like pickled eggs, or specimens from biology class.

Agreed!

I'd definitely like to try out a FROG Jam recipe this year. I just learned about this 5 minutes ago on the forum and am eager to see what recipe people are using. I live in Virginia and will have about 15 pounds or more of figs I'll need to can

People make jam out of bacon, so I suppose you could make jam out of frog meat. In my mind, sweet and fish don't go well together, but there is a lot of stuff that other people eat that doesn't appeal to me.

I knew that FROG jam was figs, but only because I've seen it mentioned on other forums. My very first thought when I saw FROG jam was that it was made with tapioca pearls, because tapioca pudding is known as "frog eggs".
