........from chickens I then got into....................?

man, this sounds like me! Let's see ducks: you have to have water right? (like a baby pool?) and then turkeys don't like chickens is that correct?

I'm following right in line. Started with 12 chickens now i've got 25(I think). Then I got an incubator and 48 eggs. This last weekend I almost came home with a pair of baby call ducks!!
Tomorrow I'm going to a small animal auction, who knows what i'll come home with

I'd have snatched them up and run!!

Hubby made me miss out on some baby Anconas last fall at the auction - 2 bucks a duckling!!! I could have killed him. I told him he isn't allowed to say yes or no anymore when I'm poultry shopping or I'll stop letting him come along

depends on the turkey breed, they have some that are like Cornish Cross chickens, takes them a short time to butcher weight (so I hear,)

others are like a regular chicken, takes them longer to size up.

i know you have done chickens but were these ones you hatched out if not that would be a good idea which ever route you go hatch out your own

Ducks need to be able to get their heads in water. they adore it of course and will get into any available. I always have a container big enough for them to swim in. Be warned that they make the water very dirty so you need to ba ble to change it easily.
