From egg to chick!

For an active infestation my advice is to definitely go with permetherin (spelling is ??).
I agree, I've never had lice in my flock, but I had mites once and went with Elector PSP because I just wanted them dead, ASAP 🤣

I have used DE though, we got two kittens who were crawling with fleas, like broad daylight walking across their faces, disgusting! They were too small for flea treatments so as a "what can it hurt" desperation act I put a pinch of DE with neem oil down the center of their backs. I had gone to the vet and gotten flea treatment for all our 4 legged critters and was waiting for the kittens to get big enough, expecting a flea explosion across everyone. Our older dog and cat are always outside but have never had fleas. I was super pleased that every single flea fled, or died, and I've never had to use the flea treatment from the vet on any of our animals, I still have it, it's probably about to expire 🤣 so that's my one DE/neem success story, but I can't speak for mites or lice.

If the diatomaceous earth doesn't work you
I would start with permethrin, DE isn’t very reliable

will need some permethrin or elector. You don't want that spreading to your girls! Kill them and kill them fast!

This. Don't let Hook near your other birds, and do regular lice checks. The hot spots are the face, under the wings, the neck and the bum. That has been my experience

My mid September chicks just barely started laying. In fact there has been exactly ONE egg so far and that was yesterday.
They are all Blue Copper Marans.

They all get there.....eventually.

My August babies have started laying as well. Still rather sluggish. Marans eggs are really pretty

I get paid Thursday. Already planning a trip to the store. Can I get either one of those at the store too? (I have a TSC right down the road about 15 minutes away)
