Frustrated with fencing

If you are doing a small area, you could always electrify it with a solar charger. the chickens will figure it our quick, but so will the predators.

I use chain link fence panels for dog runs that bolt together, add either hardware cloth or smaller diameter chicken wire to the bottom on the inside. Fast, easy and it can be taken down and set up anywhere you want by yourself. Haven't put the smaller diameter onto the meat chicks' pen yet so lost one chick yesterday to my weimaraner (German hunting dog) grump so after tonight's meeting (work) I'm starting to finish that job asap! Chick stuck its head thru...she only ate the breast and that's when I saw her eating something and counted chicks twice, real quick and yep, one missing!?!! My fault, worn out from all the work after work getting the fifty chicks winter housing prepared...that's not counting the meat chicks.

We used 1/2" hardware cloth $70 for 50' of 3' mesh. I'm not sure how much you need, and I know it's an investment, but with this you avoid heartache and time lost rebuilding a flock. It can also be cut and buried...you can see it on my home page link below. I hear your frustration, I was so glad to speak with a lot of people about this before we got our birds.
