I am trying to get him to make some candle holders for me...I will let you know how those go.

Oh man those are nice, if only my DH wasn't laid off right now. BTW I used to be friends with the guy who made some of the swords in the first pirate movie. Unfortunatly he passed away last year.

Oh Hippie Chick that is sad. Jim made the knives and sold most of his duplicate old tools and such...most of the blacksmith shop in the first movie was his stuff just hanging all over the place. He is such a wonderful artist...master blacksmith, member of a Baroque orchestra, was a college professor of music and is currently doing his 3 months onboard ship...The Lady Washington. I just adore being around him...very educated, intelligent and talented man. DH swears I would trade him in for Jim.

DH and I check on his cat every other day and make sure she has food and water while he is away. She comes and goes through her own little place and is very independent.

Last year I met a broommaker and had a broom made....in talking with him while he was making my broom, I found out he made the brooms in HP movies...the Nimbus 2000 was his first one. That was cool chatting him up about that.

How neat! Now I want a broom with a curly leaf handle made by your hubby . . . seriously though, could he do something like the gravity hook that would hang over a door? I have the typical 4 prong tack cleaning hook in my barn but it's always loaded with breastplates and bridles and stuff so I end up hanging the piece of tack I'm cleaning over the door and it doesn't stay put. The hook's curved areas would need to be larger, about the size of a 12 oz soda can. If he's willing to create this, please let me know what the cost would be for 3 of them plus shipping to Maryland 20871. Thanks a bunch!

He said it would be no problem as far as the hanger, the hook size and etc...how do you want the prongs/hooks

in a row like your tack hook?
side by side, with the hooks coming off of one hanger like a row?

How long would you want the hanger length to be when hanging on the door?

TerriLacy your package went out today with a "giftee" in there

Thanks for getting back to me ~ What I am picturing would be a single piece of iron or whatever your hubby uses . . . that would hang over the top of a standard size door, about 1 1/2 inches wide I think. The width of the iron hanger should probably be about 1 inch wide and extend down about 5 inches with a curved hook the circumference of a 12 oz soda can or thereabouts. If it can have a cool little twist or something at the tip, all the better! I will be hanging one bridle on each side of the door or a breastplate, girth, whatever so it will be like a gravity hook but bigger! If he's up for making 3 of them, I'd like 1 for myself and 2 for gifts for my horsey friends. If you can give me the price for 3 of them + shipping to 20871, I can do paypal or whatever you prefer. Sorry if my description is too vague ~ I think that I'll like what he comes up with as all the stuff you've photographed is very neat. Thanks again!

I will show him this post tomorrow and let him get an idea and a price for you.

How many hooks do you want on each side of the door, so to speak? One on each like a standard gravity hook or ??
