hi all.we have 5 chickens.4 hens and one rooster. We thought one hen was laying.they arent that old.we kept find eggs. Then last week we found the rooster sitting on the nest.So i told my son we need to put the rooster in the hen house alone so we can see if he's laying eggs or its the girls.today we moved him in alone.left him in the hen house alone for about an hour. Now we checked the hen house before we did this no egg's.went back after the hour was up,the rooster stood up and egg popped out.we are 100% sure this is a rooster has spurs and the whole nine yards of what rooster's have.Any ideas why my rooster is laying eggs and they girls arent?
Thanks jeanette

I have a hen with spurs who crows (or what passes for crowing).

Hi.i will describe the chicken to you.IT has a three and half inch red comb.it flops to one side.thin body and long tail feathers.white.Has a beard and spurs on both feet.i have had friends with chickens stop and tell me its a rooster..but its laying eggs.one friend did tell me that once in awhile a female will look like a rooster but lay eggs. Not sure how true this is.So any ideas. Also not sure what breed this is.Was suppose to be longhorn's.Thanks

Did ya ever see a bearded lady in the circus. She can still make babies.

And I once shot a hen turkey while hunting and she had an 8 inch beard, normally only tom turkeys have beards. So maybe your lady hen has a few to many testosterone hormones.

here is some photos of my chickens can you tell me what kind i have
thanks
