Fugly Farm

It sure is. How many batches of shipped egg's did I try to hatch this year, and how many pullet's did I end up buying just trying to get girl's from unrelated blood line's? Plus I got Roger too for my new roo. I paid $25.00 each for those 3 Barnevelder pullet's that have still to lay the first egg. Then I have the 2 younger Olive Egger's that are still growing out.

That's crazy, not even at POL! I understand though. I think with Charley and the girls you would have continued to get the mostly white offspring. What you have now should mix things up.

That one cockerel from Roger and the Cowgirl was the biggest of those 3 I hatched. He has a dark head and some reddish tinge coming in on his wings and shoulders. I think he's going to be a good contender as the roo for the meat girls. He's a pretty chill fella.

I'm glad that you ended up with one from mine that you like and want to work with. Charley is still producing his white chick's over in Golden Valley now with his new flock, and from what I see in the email's from the new owner he's still a good boy.

I forgot to mention about the 2 new NN pullet's that I had also bought this year, the brown one and the cream one. It's their egg's that I have in the incubator now.

Don't forget it's Charleys son who is with the big girls. I may end up with boys from both of your roos to pass on their genes here. He isn't the biggest of the boys but he's very laid back. He stood on top of the compost pile and crowed at me and I laughed at him. Then he got some grubs to call the girls for and won some points with them.

Can't wait to find out what you get from the new girls! Do they have bowties?

No, but Roger does. The brown girl is bigger than the cream girl is, and the brown girl lay's a browner colored egg. These 2 new gal's are laying egg's pretty good, too!

Love seeing the pictures of the "little doods" enjoying themselves! Reminds me of when my 2 were small, they loved their robots :)
