Fugly Farm

Flock observations from today

I hung out with the chickens this morning while they ate to keep the pigeons away. Two of the fully feathered boys were standing literally face to face with their heads down and hackles up. Nothing serious happened but it was interesting to watch. The largest of the 2 is black and white, the slightly smaller guy has some brown as well. The little guy backed down every time, but if challenged he always responded in kind if only for a few seconds. I suspect it's the larger boy who's crowing.

I also saw Jr dance for the Dorking girl this morning. This afternoon I saw her join him and the older girls out by the compost pile. She seems to be an accepted member of the big kids club. Now she's staying for sure.

Bacon is always good! I just had a baked potato last night with cheese and bacon on it.

I love baked potatoes fixed that way! And also fixed with broccoli and cheese. And also fixed with sour cream. And fixed with chili and cheese. And...ok, I just like baked potatoes! :gig

Yes, broccoli added to that cheese and bacon along with the sour cream would have made it even better, but I didn't have any broccoli on hand. My chicken's and my dog Buster like broccoli too!
